November is COPD awareness month and also our launch point for our year of action for respiratory patients. This is the year you take control of your respiratory disease and learn to not only survive, but Thrive!!!! This means learning disease management skills that can help prevent dangerous symptom escalation leading to hospital visits and further lung damage. It also means learning to deal with or ease symptoms leading to an easier day to day life. We also hope to raise awareness for the hundreds of millions of people worldwide who have chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD.
