This shirt offers hope and increases visibility for COPD and chronic lung conditions. Worldwide millions of people battle chronic respiratory conditions. In American it is estimated that close to 40 million fight chronic conditions like COPD. We are turning what is traditionally a month of COPD awareness to a year of action for all of those living with a chronic respiratory condition. Our goal is to raise awareness to increase the likelihood of additional research and funding and hopefully get people diagnosed earlier when treatments are more effective.
The shirt features a latin phrase, Spiro, Spero, Perservero which translates to, "I breathe, I hope, I go on" to inspire those who have been diagnosed to keep a positive outlook and be motivated to do the things they need to do to slow disease progression, keep symptoms in check, and go on. Just because there is no cure for many of these conditions, doesn't mean that nothing can be done. Arming themselves with proper disease management skills, respiratory patients can live full and independent lives.
